Tom Bassano
Athlete / Dad / Husband / Concerned Enough To Take Action
Track was much more competitive in high school. In my junior year, I had
already made it to some prestigious races including the sectionals state
and the Penn Relays where I had the honor of meeting Bill Cosby who also
ran that day in an exhibition race with the Olympic Team. In my senior
year, I moved to Florida where I spent my Cross Country Races running
alone since there was no one in the county that was with in 300 meters
of me in my races, I Made many Headlines and Continued to set records,
winning the George Christian Award in Track at Dunedin High School and
all County, competing in the sectionals and qualifying for state finals.
I ran the state competitions in Gainesville, Florida on a golf course
and thought I was at the end and gave it all I had, thinking it was the
end of the race, it wasn't. It was the biggest regret and most costly
mistake I had made. Running was my addiction and passion.

After a lot of road races (pro racing and triathlons), amongst going
through my teenage years, I then met a wonderful woman, who later became
my loving wife and both proud parents of three wonderful and outstanding
children. I then started to work to support my new family, as a propane
technician and a chef, then became interested in fashion photography, so
I quit the chef job, and kept the propane and photography careers going.
I have always dreamed of running across the country but that dream was
fading away as responsibility was setting in.
I started pursuing my love of art as a Fashion Photographer and have
moved quickly in the field, doing lots of photo shoots of mainstream
models, celebrities, sports (i.e.. IBF (international Boxing
Federation), magazines and Music artists; including Rick Ross , Tpain,
Mike Alstot, Tony Dungy, Al Bernstein, Shawn King, Edge (WWE superstar),
etc........
This is a subject I am passionate about. I have three children 11 yr.
old girl, 8 yr. old girl and 7 yr. old boy. My worst fear and biggest
nightmare, is to have what has happened to Jessica Lunsford, happen to
one of my own. I can not distant myself from this case, and feel sick
every time I here the name: John Evander Couey. My children asked me if monsters
are real and I said "yes, but they don't have green skin and fangs or
even fur or claws. They look like me or grandpa even mom sometimes. They
are people we think we know well and who can seem like nice people."
I look up to Mark Lunsford for all that he's doing to help protect our
children from the fate of his own. Such as the "Jessica Lunsford Act". I
find it extremely amazing how there are so many other victims of these
heinous crimes throughout time, taking notice and interest on how much
more Marc Lunsford has put into this than anyone else has in history. He
is by-far the greatest father of all American children. And it would be
my honor to spread his word from coast to coast, approximately 40 miles
a day, for 70 days.......one step at a time, in order to help continue
to spread his word and funding for his continuous projects and the
Jessica Marie Lunsford Foundation, especially Jessie's House.

Nicole
Hydration Support & Weather Liaison
Nicole is Tom's 12 year old daughter that supports him by riding her
bicycle next to him while he trains daily. She carries water and
supplements as well as a weather radio to alert tom of any adverse
weather conditions that they may encounter. She provides great
companionship for Tom during his running and she has provided assistance
in various capacities at functions for Mark and this cause.
In the midst of this she has been compiling her memoirs to someday make
her own children's book on this event from her point of view and
experiences. In addition to Nicole, Tom's loving wife Kimberly and his family
will be his primary "on-the-road" support providing nutrition and much
needed moral stimulation so he can successfully complete his mission. |

Marni holds a Master of Science in Exercise Physiology
and is Certified Sports Nutritionist through the International Society
of Sports Nutrition. Marni is currently pursuing a degree in dietetics
in order to become a registered dietician. Marni is a Level-1 USAT Coach
and a Hammer and Zoot sponsored athlete. As the sports nutritionist for
BeginnerTriathlete.com, Marni stays busy consulting athletes on daily
and racing nutrition, in addition to teaching spin classes. Marni enjoys
writing and public speaking. Currently, Marni has written for many
websites including BeginnerTriathlete.com, IronGirl.com, IDsports.com
and ProSource.net. Marni has a published article in the July 2007 issue
of Triathlete magazine and she also writes a monthly column for
Triathlete (Gatorade Athlete of the Month). Marni is an active endurance
athlete and has raced in the 2006 Boston Marathon, 2006 Ford Ironman
Florida and 2006 and 2007 Ford Ironman 70.3 Florida. She recently
completed the Ford Ironman World Championships in
Kona, Hawaii on October 13, 2007 and also qualified
for the 2007 Ford Ironman 70.3 World Championships.

Child Predator Busters was founded by former race car
driver who raced with
the National Hot Rod Association (NHRA), under the
name Sher Shattles. She
was a member of Team Firebird, racing at Firebird
International Raceway in
Chandler, Arizona and Phoenix Raceway Park from 1981
- 1995, and was
instrumental in starting the High School Drag Racing
Program at Firebird
International Raceway. Sher has worked as an artist
manager for over 30
years; and with music giants like the Legendary
Record Producer and A&R
Independent, Eddie Thomas. After her three children
were molested by a
pedophile 15 years ago, she successfully managed and
won her own legal case;
becoming an advocate/legal resource for others. In
March of 2007, Sher
successfully partnered with law enforcement to
apprehend a pedophile in
Georgia. Child Predator Busters was born. Sher's
by-the-book approach to
assisting with the investigation and apprehension of
pedophiles has won
respect and acclaim from law enforcement agencies
worldwide.
